Kathryn Pilkington

Kathryn has been a personal trainer and educator in northern Virginia for over four years. She is also a professional contemporary dancer and enjoys combining her two loves of dancing and fitness to create interesting and balanced programs for her clients.

Kathryn believes in not only challenging the body to achieve great fitness results, but also challenging the mind to learn new and fun ways of moving. Each session, for her, is an opportunity to explore and enjoy new possibilities.

Elizabeth Spatz

Elizabeth has been teaching movement in the forms of dance, Pilates, yoga, and fitness for the past 20 years. She started her movement journey as a ballet and modern dancer, working professionally in NYC for 12 years. After leaving NYC in 2001, Elizabeth studied at Soma Yoga in Newport, RI, eventually doing their teacher training program. Elizabeth currently teaches dance at George Mason University and yoga, Pilates, and dance at Northern Virginia Community College. She completed her studies in Pilates apparatus at Centeredbeing Studio in Lorton. Elizabeth believes in the power of movement to transform lives and loves working hard to bring everyone to the next level (whatever that may be!). Though a stickler for proper form, she meets students where they are, offering lots of different options for a truly individual experience.

Dana Gramling

Since 1988, Dana has been building experience as a trainer in the fitness industry. He has trained athletes of all ages and has specialized in  Seniors and Post Rehab therapy for the past 25 years. He has worked at the Arlington Y Tennis and Squash Club, Arlington Courts Royal, the Watergate Sport & Health Club, and the Fairmont Hotel health club where he was the Kinesis Director. Dana has built and managed Post-Rehab departments at each club. His personal experience is wide and varied: powerlifting at Towson State University, Tae Kwon Do martial arts, strength and conditioning coach for a dance troupe at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, running in six Marine Corps marathons, multiple mountain bike races, and two outdoor adventure races.

Philosophy: Knowledge is power; learn what you don’t know and it will serve you well for a lifetime. Your body is dumb. It’s used to winging it and getting in trouble if you don’t keep a close eye on it. Your mind is supposed to be the brains behind the outfit. Learn how to control your mind and the dumb body will follow it anywhere. Get help from outside you and it will strengthen you within.
